The SBS Invitational is to be held at The Invercargill Golf Club (Otatara) over the weekend of 3/4 March with an Am/am preceding the main event on Friday the 2nd of March. The SBS is the New Zealand Stroke Play Inter Provincial championship, and as such, second only to the Toro in terms of importance as a provincial teams fixture.
The attached flyer sets out the tournaments designated as trials for SBS team and the criteria for selection. Players are reminded that it is your responsibility to enter and travel to the trial tournaments.
There is no official “entry form” to trial for the SBS team, but players are asked to advise the Executive Officer (or the Selectors) by email, phone or mail that you are intending to trial and are available for selection.
Please note: Following the SBS a “Squad”, split into two regions (Coastal & Central) will be selected to prepare through the winter months for the Toro Inter Provincial, being held at Balmacewan – November 27 to December 1 2012. If for any reason you are unable, or not intending to trial for the SBS team, but wish to be considered for this squad, please ensure you communicate with the Executive Officer or the Otago Selectors asap.
