The Otago Stroke Play Championships, held at The Otago Golf Club’s Balmacewan course on 28/29 January, was the first of four trial tournaments from which the five man Otago SBS Invitational team will be selected.
The criteria for 2012 includes some automatic selections, based on stroke average throughout the trial series and the most rounds recorded under par.
The progress scores will be published after each tournament, with the stroke average expressed in strokes against par (plus or minus). This method allows for the variation in par figures for the various courses played during the trials.
